Maya and the Magic Ring
In partnership with the KC Lyric Opera & Lawrence Arts Center
In this new opera for families, a young girl named Maya discovers a dazzling ruby ring in her grandmother’s belongings. She rubs the jewel and accidentally releases a genie, leading to chaos as she wishes her cat and toy unicorn to life. Realizing she is in a pickle, Maya must choose her final wish carefully.

In Collaboration with the Spencer Art Museum, MAPAA Artists Alla Aranovskaya and Boris Vayner, along with Michael Gordon and Geoff Landman will serenade the Art Museum during the Indigenous Fashion Exhibit.

The Mid-America Performing Arts Alliance (MAPAA) will present a a chamber music concert featuring Violinist Christina Bouey, alongside cellist Jesse Henkensiefken, and pianist Tatiana Tessman, performing a 1728 "Artot" Stradivarius violin on generous loan from The Juilliard School. The program repertoire includes the first piano trios of both Dmitri Shostakovich and Felix Mendelssohn, as well as the first violin sonata of Camille Saint-Saëns.
